Email setup in Outlook?

I am trying to set up my email that I have from my hosted account. I am confused as to how to do this.


I have a POP3 and SMTP with my hosting company that I can use which would be mail.mydomain.com for both. Or I have my ISP POP3 and SMTP.


Do I use one or the other or half and half, one to send and the other to get. And how in the heck do I set it up, I am really confused because I keep getting logon errors.

POP3 is for receiving emails either through your ISP or hosting company, and SMTP sends emails. You probably could use your ISP's SMTP address to send email, but to make things easier. You probably want to stick with either your ISP's account or your Hosting Companies account. You could also setup two accounts. One for your ISP and for your hosting account. Depending on what Email Client you are using. Usually, your ISP has some good documentation how to setup OUTLOOK EXPRESS or OUTLOOK.





If you are having problems with authentication check with your ISP or Hosting Company and make sure you have username and password right. Sometimes you have to type in the whole email address as your username. (Most people miss that). I hope this helps. Good luck.
Reply:If you are getting login errors while connecting, please make sure that you have the correct POP3 settings, user name and password. If not contact the administrator of that company and ask for them. With OutLook you can easily set up two Mails coming to the same user account. Usually to set up a one account, you have to follow the following steps in OutLook 2003





- Open OutLook


- Click “Tools -%26gt; Email Accounts”


- Select “Add a new email account”


- Press “Next”


- Click “Add ..” Button


- Select POP3 and press “Next”


- Fill up the details properly as given by the Admin.


- Then later you can create a separate data folder and let the mails direct to that data folder.


- If you are going for a different account, you can configure that account just like the same. So both mails will be coming to the same user profile.

For example, I have Adelphia. My incoming and outgoing mail is mail.adelphia.net.





You are paying for their service. They must have a way to access help. See if there is a "help" button or a "contact us" link.
