I am trying to setup my yahoo email with thunderbird?

I don't know what its asking for when it requires the incoming outgoing server names. I DONT GET ANY OF THIS WHEN IT SAYS. In the Incoming Server field, type your Incoming mail server (POP) (e.g., mail.yourdomain.com).

In the Outgoing Server field, type your ISP's Outgoing mail server (e.g., mail.your-isp.com). I am not very good with computers so its hard for me to set things up, Thank You.

It's actually much simpler than it sounds.

The "incoming server" is the computer where your email comes to when people send it to you. The "outgoing server" is the computer which takes emails you write and sends them out.

You do *not* need premium mail to pop your mail using Thunderbird.

If you've got a garden variety Yahoo! email account you can do the following to get it to work with Thunderbird:

1. In Thunderbird go into Tools:Account Settings

2. Click on the "Server Settings" option under your account name

3. In the "Server Name:" field enter your "incoming" server, which is probably "pop.mail.yahoo.com"

4. In the "User Name:" field enter your Yahoo ID without "@yahoo.com". For example, if your email address is "joeblow@yahoo.com" just enter "joeblow".

5. Click on the "Outgoing Server (SMTP) option in the left hand menu.

6. See if you already have "smtp.mail.yahoo.com" as one of your options. If so, highlight it and click the "Set Default" button. If not, add it.

That should do it.
Reply:You need to have the "premium" version of Yahoo! Mail. They wont tell you the settings of how to do it with the free version.
