I just got an email from a hope to be future employer, and they want to set up and interview. I need to know the proper way to email back, what is the proper email etitique(sp)? Help, Thank!
Email Interview Setup?
Just write the email as you would write a "formal letter" with pen and paper. You don't have to sound like Shakespeare. Just tell them that you were pleased that they (the employer) are considering your for the position, and that you'd be happy to arrange an interview at their convenience. Be as brief as you can; all they are really after is a yes or a no.
Then provide your telephone number...if they email you back, saying "be here at 3 o'clock on Tuesday", then YOU call THEM to confirm the appointment. Plans have a way of being more "concrete" when they are discussed first-hand , rather than through correspondence.
Also, when you reply to their original email, do just that---reply with the email they sent to you. There may be a Case Number or ID number within the email they sent you, and it will make it easier for them to identify you.
Reply:you should just write
Thank you for your response to the job ( what ever job it is)
I would be delighted to arrange an interview, i will be available at your request
Your name
Reply:Continue to act professional. Act in control but not in charge. Remember that you may be one of 1000 candidates. Be spontaneous, courteous, and resourceful if you want to win a first impression. Be creative, firm, and understanding if you want to be a leader. Always attach a resume and give your email a signature. If you have any websites of your own, make them aware of it (but only if they will influence a decision). Think like Simon Cowell from American Idol when he gives his first impression of an artist performance. What would Simon say if you were in front of him for an interview? Never act nervous or incapable otherwise you should act like the job is already yours and you've been working it for years (don't act arrogant). Think back on all the times you've been tested before and have had mounting pressure. What did you do to ease your mind when that pressure was on you?
