I just got my new Curve today and am going to set up an email account. I do not have a business address, just my personal AOL emails. In the instruction book, it says that I should select "I want to create or add an email address" when I get to the Email Setup screen of the Setup Wizard. However, the only two options that appear on this screen are "I want to use a work email account with a Blackberry Enterprise Server" and "I want to skip email setup". How do I add my AOL address? Thanks!

From the BlackBerry handheld Home screen or Tools menu, select the Set Up Internet E-mail or E-mail Setup icon. If prompted, read the Terms and Conditions, and then select Accept. Enter your e-mail address and password for the account you would like to access from your BlackBerry handheld. Confirm the password and select Next.

you set up am smtp server of choice. your isp gives you this.
example: comcast's send server is smtp.comcast.net
Could give a bteer answe but dont know what you are using for an email client (program)

Yahoo email setup on a Blackberry Pearl?
I have a Blackberry Pearl and T-Mobile service. I have added my Yahoo email account. I am able to send and receive emails from my Blackberry. Here is the senario, I receive an email on my Blackberry from my Yahoo account and read it on my Blackberry. However, when i log into my yahoo email account from a web browser and check my mail, it shows the mail as being "read" already. I would like to set it up for the email to remain "unread" Is this possible?

Your e-mail program will require you to enter either an SMTP or POP3 server name when you set it up. The Optimum Online server names for both incoming and outgoing e-mail are as follows:
SMTP Server: mail.optonline.net
POP3 Server: mail.optonline.net

Cannot setup Extra Email Address, blank page returned?
following the instruction here, going to "Options"-%26gt;"Mail Address"-%26gt;"Extra Mail Address" I click "get Started", and what I get is a blank page with nothing.
I tried with another yahoo account and it should gave me a page to select a new address. I am wondering what should I do to get this account fixed. Thanks for all input.

my mom has a work email that uses microsoft outlook as their server thing or whatever its called (her actual email is like mom@company.com but has to go in outlook to get email). anyways, i got her yahoo! account on her phone for her but i am having trouble with the outlook account...
can anyone explain how to do this? and what is mircosoft exchange exactly?

Have her check with her IT people for ActiveSync email settings. That's what she's looking for.

Unfortunately tWC is quite adimant about not allowing outgoing mail from off the Roadrunner network. So you cannot use the same settings as you would at home...
(for those following, that would be smtp.nyc.rr.com)
Also unfortunately, ATT will not allow anyone to use the CWMX.com server off the EDGE network.
What does this mean? You should use the cwmx.com server as much as possible, but it means that if you are off the edge network (on wifi) at that exact moment, your mail will not go out. Once you get off wifi (manually, or leave the range of the hotspot) your mail will send out.
Another way to do this would be to forward your email to google.com. Google's interface is free, connects just fine, and will hold EVERY email there until you delete it. So you could forward your email to the gmail server, checking the setting to leave copy of mail in your roadrunner account. This will send a copy of the mail to google while leaving a copy at home.
Set up your iphone to it the gmail server (it has preset settings in the mail setup).
